Anthony Rose is Crowned 2011 Bone Appétit Chef Challenge Champion For The 2nd Year Running!

Anthony Rose Crowned 2011 Chef Challenge ChampionOn October 21st, 2011 Osteoporosis Canada held its 5th Annual Bone Appétit Chef Challenge presented by Gay Lea Foods at The Old Mill Inn & Spa, one of Toronto’s most beautiful and historic venues. This premiere event featured four celebrated local chefs – Lynn Crawford, Christian Pritchard, Anthony Rose, and Donna Dooher – competing to be crowned the Bone Appétit Chef Challenge Champion.

Each chef planned and prepared a “bone friendly” dish for the event live on our stage, using calcium and vitamin D rich foods in his or her recipe to highlight the ways in which we can enjoy tasty food that also helps protect our bones.

After each chef prepared his or her recipe on the kitchen stage, the audience had the opportunity to sample the dish at one of the four tasting stations located around the elegant venue. At the end of the evening, each member of the audience casted a ballot for their favourite dish to determine the chef of the winning dish.

Once the votes were in and counted Anthony Rose, executive chef of the Drake Hotel, won over the taste buds of the audience with his "Roast Maple Pork Loin" and was named the Bone Appétit Chef Champion for the 2nd year running.

Other dishes included; Lynn Crawford's "Warm Orange Rice Pudding", Christian Pritchard's "Sesame and Poppy Seed Encrusted Salmon" and Donna Dooher's "Curried Cauliflower".

Osteoporosis Canada would like to thank the event's sponsors, the chefs and all who came to help make this a fabolous night to enjoy and support our initiative!
